TERRA
, nelle
sue profondità,
contiene molte
preziose risorse,
una di queste è
il gas naturale
detto anche metano.
Pensate, il metano fu
scoperto da un italia-
no, Alessandro Volta, nel 1778; il primo a sperimentare
“l’aria che brucia”.
Oggi, con lo sviluppo tecnologico, l’uomo ha trovato il
modo di portare il gas naturale allo stato liquido (come
fosse
ACQUA
), quindi meno voluminoso e dunque più fa-
cile da trasportare. Stiamo parlando di GNL, ovvero Gas
Naturale Liquefatto. Sapete quanto Gas Naturale occorre
per fare 1 litro di GNL? Oltre 600 Litri. Per fare questa
operazione (che prende il nome di “liquefazione”) occorre
molta pressione e tanto, tanto freddo. Il GNL viene infatti
conservato in serbatoi super raffreddati a -161°C.

Today, thanks to the technological development, man
has found a way to bring natural gas to the liquid state
(like
WATER
), therefore less bulky and easier to carry.
We are talking about LNG, or liquefied natural gas. You
know how much natural gas is necessary to make 1 liter
of LNG? Over 600 liters. To do this operation (which is
called "liquefaction"), you need a lot of pressure and a
lot, a lot of cold. LNG is in fact kept in tanks supercooled
to -161°C.
