E adesso che parliamo di

curati un manico di scopa. Non ti
preoccupare, non ti farò spazzare “per
terra”, niente pulizie, ma un esperimento
interessante... Prendi il manico di scopa (o un qualsiasi altro
bastone con forma regolare) e appoggiane le due estremità
sugli indici, fai scorrere i diti* verso il centro del bastone fino
a trovare il punto di equilibrio.
Ce l’hai fatta? Non è semplicissimo riuscirci, la prima
volta che ci provi. Tutti gli oggetti hanno un loro punto
d’equilibrio che prende il nome di “centro di gravità”
o “baricentro”.
Se vuoi rendere l’esperimento ancora più difficile puoi
attaccare un peso ad una delle estremità del bastone.
* “diti” non è un errore: dito, al plurale, fa dita se si intendono tutte
quelle di una mano; ma se si vuole indicare più di un dito particolare (per
esempio l’anulare) bisogna usare “diti”.

Get the broomstick (or any other stick with a regular shape) and take the two ends
between your index fingers, slide your fingers towards the center of the stick until
you find the balance point.
Did you manage? It's not exactly simple on the first try. All objects have their own
point of balance that is called the "center of gravity" or "barycentre".
If you want to make the experiment more difficult, you can attach a weight at one
end of the stick.
