Ma nello spazio non abbiamo fatto meglio: il grande problema
è sempre rappresentato dai rifiuti, questa volta spaziali (space
debris): milioni di pezzi di satelliti, detriti, bulloni, scaglie di
vernice che ruotano intorno al nostro pianeta a velocità altissime,
così alte che una piccola vite, sfrecciando a 250.000 chilometri
all’ora, può perforare un’astronave da parte a parte.
Non c’è da andare fieri di queste cose e anche tu puoi impegnarti
perché i rifiuti, almeno quelli terrestri, non vengano abbandonati
nell’ambiente,
ma riciclati in maniera sostenibile.
We’re not doing much better in space though. The main issue has
always been waste, this time it’s space debris.
Millions of bits of
satellites, detritus, bolts and flakes of varnish that rotate around
our planet at very high speed. The speed is so high that a small
screw hurtling at 250,000 km/h could pierce a spaceship from one
side to the other.
These things are nothing to be proud of, and even you could make
an effort at least on Earth, not to litter the environment and to
recycle rubbish sustainably.
