the Tutor of the dry
port in Melzo.
I know, “dry port” is
a term that does not
“sound” quite right,
but, in fact, here
we never see ships,
because we are in the
heart of the Po Valley
and it would be pretty
hard for them to get here.
Containers, however, have
no trouble getting around,
especially if you put them
on a train, transporting
many of them in just one
trip.
And speaking of trains I
want to propose this “exercise of
reasoning” which requires some
attention...
We have an electric locomotive
that travels at the speed of
80 kilometres per hour in a
Southern direction, with a
North wind blowing at the same
speed. The question is:
In which direction does the
smoke of the locomotive go?

Lo so, “porto secco”
non è un termine che
“suona” bene, ma, in
realtà, qui navi non
ne vediamo proprio,
perché siamo al centro
della pianura Padana
e sarebbe piuttosto
difficile farle arrivare sin
qui. I container, invece non
hanno nessuna difficoltà
a spostarsi, soprattutto se
li metti sopra ad un treno,
trasportandone moltissimi
con un unico viaggio.
E a proposito di treno
voglio proporti questo “esercizio
di ragionamento” che richiede una
certa attenzione...
Abbiamo una locomotiva elettrica
che viaggia alla velocità di
80 chilometri l’ora verso Sud,
ed un vento da Nord che soffia
alla stessa velocità.
La domanda è:
da quale parte si dirige il fumo
della locomotiva?
